Australian Fashion week 2012, saw 5 days of inspiring creativity. Australia’s veterans of fashion and up and comers combined to create one of the most memorable weeks to date. International bloggers Bryan Boy, Susie from Style Bubble, Fashion Toast, Candice Lake and the stunning Elin King all made their way down under to see what all the fuss was about and I doubt that they were disappointed.
This year PeepToe had the privilege of sponsoring some of Australia’s hottest labels. PeepToe again was aligned with some premium brands showcasing this year including Carla Zampatti and Michael Lo Sordo.
PeepToe also had the opportunity to be involved in sponsoring some amazing new and established labels such as, Uscari, Flowers for a Vagabond, Johanna Johnson and the highly anticipated show, Whitney Eve & W.E by reality TV darling Whitney Port.
Here is a snap shot of a week of PeepToe on the runway:
Johanna Johnson
This show was absolutely exhilarating. The garments were show stopping; long theatrical and ornate, they sashayed down the gold reflective runway to the delight of the audience. Leather and silks dazzled and models were adorned with crystal headwear. All the while models including, the stunning Samantha Harris, flashed a PeepToe or two.
Flowers for a Vagabond
This creative and installation style show was a stunning visual representation is a journey through darkness and rebirth. A combination of textures colours and heavy black wool set the scene for an alluring and innovative collection.
Whitney Eve and W.E
This was one of the most anticipated shows of the week as it was the debut of Whitney Eve Port’s collection at an Australian Fashion week. Showcasing two lines, Whitney Eve and W.E we saw where this TV stars true talent lies. Sweet florals mixed with strong bold colours made an exciting and extremely wearable collection for spring summer 12/13. And of course our favourite this about the show was seeing the divine Whitney herself!
Carla Zampatti
The show titled “Into the light” included crisp white cottons, luxe lace and linens. The hues of the collection included pastel ice blue, musk pink and crème. It was like stepping into a dream, with floating dresses and a lace wonder garment that cemented Carla’s status as one of Australia’s most respected designers. PeepToe custom made Miss Lollipop in light pink and black patent to compliment the collection, one of our favourite collaborations to date.
Michael Lo Sordo
This collection was truly inspiring. Michael has a way with prints and they featured heavily in his latest collection. Foiling and hues of bold bright colours mixed with intricate prints of bugs and flowers set this collection apart. Held at Sydney’s newest hot Greek eatery, The Apollo, Lo Sordo’s creations amazed the crowd with a jaw dropping metallic gladiator dress for the finale.
For the second year in a Row Lo Sordo collaborated with PeepToe to create custom made shoes designed by Michael Lo Sordo. This year collaboration was talk of the town, with the sleek strappy metallic wonders being a true compliment to the collection.Hope you enjoyed our fashion week wrap up
